In the US, cart bags with fourteen club slots PLUS a putter well are pretty common.
Fifteen club sets are therefore pretty common, so in formal play, one must be removed.
I absolutely hate the look of an empty slot because it gives the appearance that a club was left behind somewhere on the course,
and even though you quickly remember the reason for the empty slot,
the initial stomach turn can affect your next shot.
I know how you hardy chaps like to walk over on that side of the Atlantic, but surely,
there must be some senior riders among you. Also, there are surely trolley users who go with side pocket cart bags as well.
Are the fifteen club bags as popular over there?
