Anyone who is a fan of the Frederico Fellini films will know about chance and coincidene. I've had a real Fellini day. Decided not to play in the Saturday roll up as it was tipping down and I've a 36 hole competition tomorrow.
I set out to Sand Martins (where HID works) late morning as they have a superior short game area and it was sunnier. Got halfway there and the heavens opened so aborted and came back. Had some lunch and watched the Man U instead which was a great game for the neutral. Wandered back up there to find one of the pros chipping away waiting for his lesson to arrive. Cue a quick 10 minute refresher. Happy days.
HID came to pick me up and I had a few balls left. Her boss was hitting on the range so she wandered over to talk to her. Her boss is the partner of Andrew Hall who owns Sand Martins and is also a top coach and is often featured in Golf International. Now I'm standing there doing my own thing as he teached his partner and then suddenly he wanders along and starts giving me a couple of tips. Cue a free one hour lesson and some simple but integral swing pointers to work on. I'll stick with the rubish I'm using at the moment tomorrow but he made perfect sense and has given me a couple of great drills to work on. Surely this isn't going to be my day tomorrow based on these chance encounters (I think we know the answer but you've got to be an optimist). Still two freebie lessons is never to be sniffed at.
