Fast Greens....

We have the best greens in the area and at times some of the best in Scotland, when they are good the are quick. The course is sort of set up with the greens as part of the protection of the course. We have very large flatish greens, s easy to hit for most so need to be quick.

They were fantastic at the weekend.

not played recently, but the news letter on friday said the greens were at 11 for this weekends club champs and thats as fast as they want them ever. Like most on here, as long as its consistent and true, i dont care if they are fast or slow.

The biggest problems I find with very fast green is that there is a very big difference between uphill and downhill putts, and side slopes become much more significant. It is easy to just touch a downhill putt and it goes 10 feet past the hole if it doesn't go in. Likewise it is easy to leave uphill putts short. Don't even mention long putts over a hogs back, which are easy to leave 10 feet short or 10 feet past!
