Fascinating things

I like the one that's like a dozen slices of a globe.
Known as Globe Gores. Excellent image laid side by side!

I always find in interesting talking of geography etc how often many people Don’t know that there is a magnetic North and true North when teaching Navigation and map reading. So teaching them to use GMA can be mind blowing at first and it gets even more confusing when you take them to the Arctic circle as the GMA calculations can become flipped/sometimes irrelevant due to the polar magnetic fields changing everything.

The antipode of where I live is off coast of New Zealand with closest town on land being Portobello - with the bay round the corner from Portobello being Seaton Bay - and my mums maiden name is Seaton.

Fascinating? Well it was for me when I was there and found that out 😘 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇳🇿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
