I lost a ball yesterday because I hit it towards a copse of trees. There was no long rough, but lots of fallen leaves, any one of which could have been hiding my ball. I also nearly lost a ball in similar circumstances last week, but fortunately one of my FC's found it by treading on it. A problem that happens every Autumn I suppose. :(

Great story. Damn trees losing their leaves.

I can sympathize with delc here. Leaves on the golf course are annoying. Especially when they are lying on the fairway and you can lose even a well hit ball due to them. When I hit a bad shot and my ball is lost in thick rough or undergrowth, so be it, but losing a ball after a good shot is just not fair. Our greenkeepers do their best to rake or blow the leaves off as often as possible, but at this time of the year that's a bit of a Sysyphus task. But it could be worse. At least it is not snowing yet.

Tell me about it, there are places on our course where you have to hit the ball away from the right line because at this time of year Popular leaves are white underneath and its hard to find your ball even when it is on the fairway.

I had something similar yesterday. I was playing well and after a fine 5 wood 2nd shot to the par 5, all of a sudden i couldn't see my ball.

I gave up after a Birchy 5 minutes. It was night time I suppose.

Seriously Delc? Do you think the answer you'll get this October will be different to the answers you got last Oct when you posted about Autumn Leaves?
