fairways and hybrid troubles

I recently swapped from 'Callaway Warbirds' to 'Srixon soft feel' because I'd changed the shafts in my irons and consequently lost a ton of distance, that and the 'Warbirds' felt like I was hitting musket balls, sounded horrendous, felt even worse. :thup:

The Soft Feel is not great for distance. It tried to do the same as Wilson Staff DX spin and the now-gone Bridgestone e5.

The Bridgestone was epic with a driver. The DX Spin is amazing with a short iron.

I lose a ton of distance with Pro-V balls. Titleist would call me 'wrong' (or worse) but the Trackman doesn't lie. (Does it?! )

Yes, that could be interesting. I am very keen to try the Callaway Supersoft myself.

I have read some of your posts... I reckon you swing it a bit faster than me (most are!) and maybe the Soft Feel comes a bit more alive with another 5-10 mph.

Ended up back with the Srixons, AD333's this time though, the 'Callaway Supersoft' I tried felt like I was hitting a squash ball, Chrome softs weren't much better, had a mare of a round as well, bloody wind at our place could've stopped a stampeding bull in its tracks, hitting a 3-wood off the tee (don't use a driver) and they were going about 160-170 and would then stop dead in the air and drop to the floor like a concrete block, my own fault I spose as I get far to much air with all my clubs.

I like the ad333. For the price I havent found a better ball. The our seems decent although I've only had limited use. I switch to the AD in winter as the greens soften, the prov's spin isnt needed so no point losing expemsive balls.

I am though, trying to find a decent pink ball to combat the leaves.

Yup... not a good time of year to get a feel for much with a ball. Squash ball sounds good to me though... the more squash, the better.... (except not in a gale)

I like the ad333. For the price I haven't found a better ball.

I'm reminded of playing Hawkstone park c. Summer 2012.

6 brand new AD333s ready (in the boxes) in the bag, marked with putting lines and personal dots.
Could I putt with them? Nope... not a chance. I mean, I didn't take that many putts (too many really) but boy, they were so hot off the face and just would not stop bl**dy rolling. I had to make endless 4,5,6 footers coming back.

My partner suggested not using them and going back to what I was used to. Trouble was, what I was used to were all in my other bag!

Lesson #412 for Golf. Don't go and play in an important match with only some unknown ball. You'll pay on the greens.
I've done the same with a ball that did the opposite as well. That didn't go so well. Coming up short 18 times is kind of rubbish.

They are hotter off the face but it helps on the winter greens I find. Not sure what I'll play winter league though. If hotgolf have the prov1 practice balls in I'll prob stick to them.
