When I was a kid (I'm 25) I was a big F1 fan, but my interest has waned to watching the first lap, hoping for a crash and then turning it off.

I understand the all of the defences of the sport, and I don't dispute any of them, but it just hasn't grabbed my attention at all lately.

It's also a shame that this season will be dominated by Schumacher's comeback, and the Button Hamilton tussle, both of which will almost certainly end controversially.

While i am a fan of f1 i too sometimes find it a tad boring but that can be said of most sports and the fans that watch , i am new here and dont fancy upsetting anybody but much has been made about advantages gained by some teams and drivers , and the comparisons to golf and how golf is a level playing field , which to a certain extent is true but can you remember when tiger was in his hey day and courses were being made longer ? the comments that were being made about these holes favouring the big hitters ! was that a level playing field ? or do you say that seve had an unfair advantage because his short game was as near perfect as made no difference ! in any sport there will be those who rise to the top and stay there for a while because they take on the new technology and use it the best way it can be used , there will always be those who will fair better with new technology than others.
As for golfers and money they are there for both prestige and money but you cant live on prestige so the money is a very important reason for flying thousands of miles a year and all the practice involved .

Sorry its not a sport. Not a level playing field and money talks or why else would Schumacher return. I think the golf analogy falls down as the pros all have access to the same top end equipment and at the end of the day its about their performance and not the driver, pit crews (although they are always good to watch) R&D, scientists etc. Is the smallest team in F1 going to have access to the same facilities as Ferrari at Maranello?

Homer, you've got it wrong

money talks in all sports, including golf. can't think of a single one where it doesn't.

I mean are Fulham playing on a level playing field?
