New to the forum. New to golf.

Its like a Jus for Chips, mainly found in and around Bolton and Wigan at lunchtime.

Sounds like you've been missing out on a Lancastrian Delicacy - Chip Barm Pea Wet & Scraps

Jus   how does that sound with a Bolton accent!?

Looks all kinds of wrong!

So, slightly green tasteless water poured over your chips!?

Worse than putting gravy on them

Gravy on chips is a winner as is curry sauce but pea wet is just wrong on every level.

Pea wet is proper skem behaviour.

I'll give you curry sauce on chips, a delicacy

12 years down here now and still don't get the gravy thing though.

Pea Wet, Jesus wept I was probably better off not knowing!! ;)

Golfbidder.com or eBay would be your best bet. Go for any models that are a few years old and you won't have to spend a fortune. Not sure if it's been mentioned but try hybrids out as they are a good alternative to a 3,4 or 5 iron. Steer clear of the Argos and Sports Direct guff.

Btw fellas......'Pea Wet'???????? Surely they don't charge you for it ??????

A few on here went to Jason Dransfield Didsbury but I think he has moved. Our pro at Lymm is good and there are a few in Warrington with good reputations such as Adrian Fryer at Tru Fit.....

Thanks for the recommendations and to you too Danny.
Cheers
Rob

I once worked with a guy who always ordered, 'babies ed' chips pee wet and gravy.... Put the lot on a bin lid barm.....

Guess where he was from...... Wigan!

Chips need nothing but lashings of salt and vinegar and tomato sauce.

I'm sorry, but you eat saveloys down your way, so southerners are banned from this thread.:D

Pea wet - green water, for mingebags. Go the local pond instead. Deffo Skem behaviour.

Gravy on fish?

Pie dinner - The rules - curry if a chicken and mushroom, gravy for meat pie. meat and potato pies are wrong, and once finished off the missus cheese pie and chips (with gravy on) - I was very, very drunk.

Oh aye - buy second hand clubs until your off 9 or less. - BOOM!!!!!

so after all the advice and research...i bought those JPX850 irons. i was worried about buying entry level clubs from sports direct and them being dog shít. then i was destined down the second hand route but found it hard. unless you know a lot about clubs generally, it's difficult to find out specifics and what level of player they're designed for. so, i went for the new mizuno. they're apparently aimed at a mid to high handicap so i figured as i improved, the clubs would be advanced enough to allow me to keep improving. i wanted to shell out once for irons and not have to think about it again in the future.

anyway, played with them last night at walton hall in warrington. my second ever proper round. torrential rain for the first half. 4 iron off the tee. hit a sizeable 118 shots. 55 on the way back in much better weather. i was quite pleased with that given the conditions. 10 shots better than the other week when i borrowed my mates clubs and 12 better than him this time around. i'm making progress and applied a lot of what i learned last time to this round but lessons is definately something i'm going to organise.

it's nice to be involved in such a great game. i'm really enjoying it.

Well done for taking the plunge. Them are some good bats !!! Well played also. I scored similar when I popped my golfing cherry at Walton Hall. It's a great Muni and a tough course. Plot your way around and try for level 5's (score of 5 on each hole). Keep your eye out on here for games in and around the NW too.
