Based on being incorrectly self taught I’ve always struggled with a takeaway that’s wristy and often on the inside. I’ve struggled with this for years and with the winter approaching (crazy I know) I’m considering investing in one of these just to end this dam bad habit. I’ve also got a little shorter in the backswing so figure the correct plane will also help this.

So… does anyone own one and have they found it useful.

What problem is your takeaway causing at impact?

Wristy flat takeaway is shortening the back swing (left arm below shoulder plane) from that position it’s near on impossible to get on top of the ball so strike is inconsistent and weak losing it typically high with left to right flight. There’s generally an early release with the hands and a slight holding back behind the ball to compensate.

I only ask as I know how hard it is to change your swing plane especially when you've been doing it for so long.
I would be tempted to work on reducing the wristy take away and leaving the swing plane alone.
Needless to say I'm not a big fan of the explanar.
Do you roll your wrists as well on the initial takeaway?

I fan (roll) like a female dog!

I believe the bad swing starts with a roll, which subsequently results in a chain reaction of faults

I’ll send a pm as it could be going off topic here.

I was at a golf in Surrey club a few years back that had 2 or 3 of them I would see if you can find a club that still has them to try before buy. I presume you would have the room for one.

I have the room (patio) for use when not hammering down but I am also blessed with a good lady that would chew my ear if it sat there unused.

I’ve seen a few in pro shops and never do they seem in a location that would suggest they are used on a regular basis which is a concern but I’m not sure if that’s because everyone is obsessed with Trackman style lessons with stats stats stats

I can totally relate to what you are saying, it’s something I struggled with for a long time.
Cheaper and easier check out Eric Corgorno Golf. He has a few very good videos on this. Also check out how the shoulders move in the backswing.
I think he really could be your answer.

There's an old one gathering dust at Hilden range. Make them an offer! ?

I had one a few years back. Picked it up second hand on eBay for a steal. Used it fir about 3 months but don’t think it helped my swing. Ended up selling it, and got mire than I paid, so no harm done.

I had a go on one quite a few years ago.
Didn't seem to highlight anything serious on the backswing, but confirmed a tendency to get steep on the downswing.
It didn't feel very real though.
Bleeding enormous piece of kit, so not practical for home use imo.
