Ever been hit by a golf ball?

I've hit myself with a golf ball. Clipped a 5 wood off a path, and it hit a tree 3 foot away and came flying back. God knows how, but I managed to turn my head, so instead of it smacking me straight in the teeth, it smashed into my cheek.

Ball then flies into the trees behind me and I ended up with a 6. Then remembered the 2 stroke penalty! That was more painful than the ball to be honest!

No bruising or anything, as I stopped in after the 9th and got a napkin filled with ice-cubes to put over it.

Yes about 6 weeks ago, in a club comp. Hit full on the arse from about 15 yards by a rising ball

My fault entirely, I walked in front of one of the playing partners to where my ball lay. I thought I was safe, well away to the side of his target line. He pulled his shot badly to the left. Wow! did it hurt! I had a bruise size of a tennis ball. Good job it was on soft tissue. I learned my lesson, never walk ahead to avoid slow play, assuming your playing partner is going to hit the ball straight.

I managed to hit myself when I just started playing about 3 years ago. Nailed a driver off the 12th tee at my old club, it travelled about 50 yards before hitting the round ball cleaner pole and came straight back and hit my ankle bone as I tried to jump out the way. Dropped me like a prostitutes pants !!! Sorest thing ever....

I never really knew the rules properly back then and obviously neither did any of my playing partners as I don't remember adding any penalty shots for hitting myself.... I know now though :-)

Occupational hazard. It's amazing how many people actually aim at you when you're out on the range, but I work on the theory that most of them can't hit a fairway or green so there is little chance of them hitting me! (Ouch!)

Got hit a few years ago in the back. Playing our 3rd and had just hit my shot into the green and was putting the club back in the bag and the idiot behind drove off. I'm not a long hitter so obviously in range. One bounce and whacked me at the base of the spine. Went down like the proverbial Italian defender. Really hurt. Got worse after a few more holes when the bruising really came out and it stiffened. The bloke hardly rushed to see if I was ok and then said "I thought you were out of range" Good job I was on the deck or I'd have rammed a club somewhere medical science would have struggled to have removed it from. Afterwards he came back into the 19th and mumbled some feeble apology and offered to buy me lunch and I basically told him where to stick it. Fortunately he didn't hang around as a member for long

Was playing with Mrs Woo, when a group of 4 hackers asked us to play through. I proceded to hit decent shots and parred the hole, Mrs Woo on the other hand duffed 3 shots in a row and picked up.
We were ready to tee off on the next when we heard a shout of FOUR, so you can imagine my relief when the ball whizzed past me and hit an already annoyed Mrs Woo on the thigh.
She had a bruise for weeks and was nearly in tears at this point.
To be fair the lad who hit her, came over and appolagised and it was a good shout, so just unfortunate.

She then proceeded to hit the best drive of her life!
