Ever been hit by a golf ball?

I have had a few near misses, closest one was at Breadsall Priory walking to the green on the first when a shank from the second tee raced towards me hitting my cart bag at around 100 mph. Lucky escape as it would of seriously hurt. The shanker in question was one of our group on our lads weekend, did shout, and took up golf insurance the minute we got back, it really shook him up.
 
Got hit by Jarmo Sandelin at a Tournament at the Forest of Arden years back.
Saw the ball every inch off the tee and although it was coming my way it wasn't going to get me until it pitched and kicked right into the middle of my chest.
 
Been hit once, hit two different people (5 wood at close range, freak push straight right and a 7 iron as it was coming down to earth), they came off a lot worse than I did. I was carrying (HEY surprise surprise!!) and it hit the strap luckily enough.
 
I've filled myself with fear of our 1st tee off the blues. You tee back behind the path which lies between the whites and blues. Everybody stands off to the right alongside the whites. A few weekends ago, teeing off for a fairly important comp I caught the ball with the very front of my wood (I've never ever shanked like this before) it basically shot off at a 45degree angle straight towards the 2 groups waiting for there tee time. I missed one guys head by about 1/2 an inch, the ball left a 2 inch gash in the putting grean and shot off into the bushes. I was physically shaking walking down the 1st deciding to NR the hole in preference of teeing off again. :o
 
I've been hit twice,once when somebodies drive bounced then hit me in the back of the hand,and another time when i guy shanked his 5 iron straight into my shin,withing 15 minutes i was unable to walk,but thankfully no lasting damage.
 
The answer is yes and wait for it - it was my own ball. I was playing this year in society weekend at Herons Reach 2nd shot on 5th (par5) just rolled off the fairway into a thick bit of rough about 100yds from green. Ball was sat down but elected to go for it with PW. All I remember is collapsing in a snotty heap with blood coming from below my left eye. Good job I wear specs - the cut was from where the ball had knocked the lens out. When we surveyed the area a bit more it was actually a drainage channel full of rocks where the rough had been allowed to grow over.

thats Ok then, still got plenty of padding around there,

Been better if it had hit your bonce, (no sense= no feeling)

Hit myself in the balls with a rebound having thinned a wedge.

As the saying goes, please God, take away the pain but leave the swelling. :D

Had a couple of close shaves but thankfully never been hit. Did see a guy get his arm broke though :(

Group behind teeing off as we're walking up the adjacent fairway. I hear the call "FORE!!!" look up and see a white dot blazing towards me at warp speed.

I had to literally dive out of the way.

The best of it was....... It was my Dad that hit it :mad:
 
Yes. I was hit TWICE with the SAME ball! 4 weeks ago.

My mate thinned his drive and it hit the ladies hole-information-plaque thing before flying towards my ankles...hit the right one before shooting across and hitting my left one. He hit it hard too :(

When i hear "FORE!!!" i cover my head with one arm and my lower back with the other,before dropping to the ground like a sack of [****]. :D
 
Was hit by a sliced driver a few years ago. It hit the the bottom of my neck and put me on theground for a while. 6 inches higher an it would have probably killed me so I think I was quite lucky. It was hit by another of our group who had barely played before and it probably affected him
more than me. I finished the comp and placed but the damage to my shoulder/muscle has never really healed and I still need steroid injections on occasion just to dim the pain. On reflection, I think it probably affected me more than him.
 
Closest was my own drive - topped into the granite markers for the ladies tees. Came back at me about 120 mph past the right ear. Added 50 yards to the length of the hole.
 
Full on six iron from about 150 yards hit me on the side of my head on the fly. Made the most amazing hollow bong noise. Really loud. Knocked me over, and by the end of the round I had a massive lump.

Hit by a vicar. No shout. Nothing.
