Watched the first half , till our song came on, is it me or were all the songs really “safeâ€, nothing stuck out for me ( oh matron).
There was no bearded lady or other freaks as there have been in previous years, no group of singing Matryoshka grandmas, it lacked a bit of oomph and was frankly boring.
Could it be that no country actually wants to win it as it costs a fortune to host it next year if you do win.
Some guy in the Netherland is scratching his head this morning wondering how did they end up winning and can they put a tax on weed to pay for next year.

I didn't bother watching the voting, actually the moment Madonna came on I switched off and went to bed. Saw the results this morning. Netherlands, yawn. Apparently they have done the ground work around Europe prior to the contest and it is a hit in a number of countries. That explains the public vote. I thought it was very dull, not memorable at all.
My tip of Sweden was apparently top of the judges vote, darn the public. (My other tips did nothing, hey ho)

Get back to reading your latest Wings, or was that where it was mentioned, maybe if we leave and you have another ref and go solo, you can stay in the club, although I don’t know how you’d afford to be, but that aside, you get your own candidate then on the show representing Scotland, maybe bring Neil Reid out of retirement to sing Mother of mine in his kilt to win some hearts & minds 😜😂😂

Well, there was Iceland. And I am pretty certain, Bilal from France would have caused quite a stir only a few years ago. I don't think the performances have become duller, I think most taboos have been broken in the past and it is difficult to present something at Eurovision which hasn't been done before. I thought it was actually a good and (technical issues which made singing near impossible aside) enjoyable mix of songs. I would have loved to see North Macedonia win or at least get slightly higher in the popular vote. And yeah, the 0 pts for Germany sting a bit. The song wasn't among my favorites, but the two girls were cute and I would have expected at least a few people to like the song enough to vote for it.

I think the new voting system is pointless. Having the jury vote was supposed to equal out things like Greece and Cyprus giving each other 12 points, but it just shows the ‘competent’ juries as being bigger hypocrites than the public.
It also builds up tension around acts like France and Macedonia who the suddenly just finish in midfield while the guys with the largest public votes hardly got mentioned in the tedious presentation of points.
And as usual, the stuff that I liked finished towards the back.

I "watched" it from about 10 meters away in my cousins dining room whilst swigging wine (non European). It all looked smart and fancy (I couldn't hear the TV). I'll be watching on catch up this afternoon. I must admit I can't even remember the winning tune. Looks as though my tips came nowhere. But the UK came last. They really do hate us don't they.

I watched it yesterday. Good grief I wasn't even close. Two of my predictions didn't even make the final!!!
The best two, I think, were Denmark and Spain. Uk's lad was, sorry mate, a block of wood and it was a poor effort from his team all round.
The Uk should pull out of funding this and just send a decent pub karaoke singer and sing
