Euro Pro qualifying

Thats good to hear, I tempted him back last year to the forum with relentless tweets:lol: but he's been pretty quiet since, hopefully concentrating.

I notice a few amateurs doing well, I assume ams can play on the tour full time then if they qualify?

Id assume they then have a choice as to whether to turn professional and take up their card. Have known amateurs to play in one off events, not so sure they can play multiple events as one though

Tough gig is Europro but a good grounding if you have the talent to get to the big tour.

I see Eric Ramsay is still trying hard too, shows how difficult it is as he had a good showing as an amatuer at the Open.

A lad I've played with twice,Andy Scrimshaw (and shafted once in matchplay ;)) shot 72 after falling doon the stair last night,he tells me his ankle was like a balloon but he managed to stick in.

Hope he improves.

Young Scrimshaw has just shot 65 in 2nd round, currently tied 3rd at -7
Another 2 locals are on -5 , tied 7th, Matty Webb & Phil Ridden

So good week for the North East lads

Keep it up

All golfers who miss the cut achieve a category 13 for the season. The top 120 will then be categorised as follows based on their position after 54 holes:

Category 3
Players 1-30, and ties, from the 2013 PGA EuroPro Tour Qualifying School

Category 9
Players 31–80 from 2013 PGA EuroPro Tour Qualifying School

Category 10
Players 61–80 in the 2012 PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit

Category 11
Players 81-120 from the 2013 PGA EuroPro Tour Qualifying School

Finishing in the top 30 would guarantee a golfer a start in any tournament they wish to enter, provided they enter the tournament before the entry deadline.

Just seen Jason Dransfield playing the Euro Pro Tour on Sky at Burhill. He came tied fifth. I know the winner gets £10,000, but don't think the money is great thereafter.

yeah he had 3 solid rounds of 71 - interesting pair of Red shoes being worn on the final day too :)

Think he got £1200 for T5th, they tend to have a £40K total prize pool.

They are up at Collingtree Park next week and then Frilford Heath after that, hoping to get up to watch a day or two at either/both. Hopefully the pro Ive played with in a few a pro ams this winter will be playing, though somehow he seems to have got himself a full tour invite this week (obv a weakened field due to US Open)
