Etiquette Advise Needed on Slow Play and Playing Through

Yes i agree that the joining fee is a bit off putting but you cannot just drop it, what about all the people who have paid it in previous years, it would not be fair on them. If you join you can pay it over 3 years which is not so bad.
I think it is an "unwriten rule" on most courses especially at weekends.I have never said you cannot play on your own, you just have to be a bit sensible about it, i have said we have 36 holes and alot of the time during the week and late afternoon you can find somewhere to play where you are not interfering with other peoples golf. I do understand that on an 18 hole complex playing on your own can cause problems, but you also have to think of other golfers, not just yourself.
