Enjoyable Easter long weekend at the club

Having returned to club membership last summer (better time for renewal IMO!), although knowing would be struggling for time in 2013, am finally starting to be more involved this spring. Medal a couple of weeks ago (don't ask), and over Easter some opportunities to become more familiar with the white tees under some different circumstances.

Saturday - match play pairs siding those who leave the club turning left verses those leaving turning right. Good bit of fun and banter and opportunity for me to meet a few more people.

Monday - drawn 3 ball teams. 1 score counting par 5s, two on 4s and all three on the par 3s. New format to me but enjoyed it.

Weather held fair for both. Happy days :thup:

Carswell, between Oxford and Swindon.

Had a lesson last weekend and a couple of range trips to try and quieten the head before Saturday. Didn't work to well, struggled off the tee early doors but irons were pretty good and the lure of matchplay did drag me along - some decent holes at times, signs of scrambling and a tight match which finished all square.

Monday - did my own version of loft up - pulled the 12 degree, £39 driver out the garage and had a basket before the game. Very solid off the tee, out in gross +2 Fell away a bit but marker reckoned I was about 36 points on my own so really pleased overall. 3 birdies in one round is a first time for me - being a tad more aggressive in the format probably helped.
