Too many sloppy penalties, thank god that the argies kickers had a worse day than Jonny.
We were ill disciplined and very very lucky to scrape through
we had best pick ourselves up before the big boys

ref had a poor game in my opinion, granted our discipline was poor, but he let the argentines get away with murder, paticularly in the first half

But a win is a win. Very tough opener for England and I would rather they were rusty and un-dynamic against the Argies than against the French or one of the other top sides in the quarter finals. This England side have a lot of talent and are a decent outfit, with a number of young players in their first World Cup. Give them time to settle into the tournament.
Missed it as I was too busy hitting my own self destruct button on the course but saw it this afternoon on Sky+. Agree about Vickery and the ref but felt England were nearly the architects of their own demise through indiscipline. I thought one of the key components to winning the world cup and especially the final was not to give penalites away and yet we were pretty shoddy today. A win is a win and we should top the group now.
