Golf Opens in the North West of England

There are two open events to be held in the North West of England this year on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th July at Fleetwood and Heysham Golf Clubs.

These are for play with vintage golf clubs, for further details please see the respective club websites.

Whilst I am no vintage gear golfer, one of my former playing partners, Alan, is helping organise these events and i would have liked to come along as Fleetwood is my home course. Would have been good to meet a few of you.

Unfortunately looks like I have an away league match that day which scuppers those plans (if selected ).

Still tempted for the 24th as have played against Richard a few times , just weighing up the 2 hour drive home for 27 holes the next day

I've done it there and back in a day, but not with 27 holes to follow!

As long as you choose one of the 5 days a year it's flat calm, then you will be OK! Think we have used up a couple of those already in recent weeks!

Hope you enjoy it. The course is looking great at the moment, firming up nicely with hardly any recent rain. By June the greens should be excellent - still a little bobbly at the moment as the grass isn't growing very fast.
