Maybe because at last the expectation from England isn't as silly high as in previous tournaments (the penny is finally dropping) that may actually work for England as they'll realise they can't stroll into the last 4 on the premierships reputation with its £120k/week salaries and will need to work hard and play as a team. If they do things might just go a lot better this time. The winter weather will help England too with the faster paced game. I think they could go ok. If they play to full potential they are certainly a serious contender to win.

I really don't know why Capello is bothering to wait for Barry's fitness test. We do this every time, take a crock who is barely off the injured list, hasn't trained and unfit - never worked yet.
Ferdinand's supposedly been back longer but he still isn't fit and not a patch on the player he was.
They need to get their collective heads out of their orifices or the US will win, and then we will have trouble qualifying at all.

What doesn't help is when the official Scotland World Cup song from some years ago (Allys Army) mentioned that England didnae qualify. If an England song mentioned that the Scottish team weren't good enough to qualify yhere'd be hell on.
Your National Anthem does and you expect us to sing it at every opportunity

We're talking about Footie songs Canny.

FWIW I can't stand GSTQ as a national anthem and I don't blame the Scots for singing Flower of Scotland at sporting events. The English have to sing GSTQ!!!
Much prefer Land of Hope and Glory as an English or National Anthem.

Christ Robobum....wind your neck in. I would use an instant smiley but alas they appear to be lost on you.

Put on all the smileys you want, still a stupid thing to write. :D

Fully agree Robobum

So if i said the Scots are a bunch of haggis munching twats and put a smiley on the end that would be ok would it?

Of course not and it would quite rightly be removed

I am with you. Whether joking, tongue in cheek or not, to say that England are filth or scum is a little over the top in my view.

Personally, I can't stand the Scots as a race but there's no way I would say so on here as it would be viewed as the racist rantings of an imperialist, oil thieving, Royalist Albionite.. I will just keep it to myself ... :D :D :D :D :D

Only kidding salty porridge lovers - note the smileys!

I had a Scottish girlfriend for a couple of years so I am in no way predjudiced to Scotland. Couldn't marry her though. Her hair was the colour of Irn-Bru (like a lot of her countrymen and women) therefore no good as breeding stock!

:D :D
