Energy foods for during the round

I bring a drink every time but only to wet my lips. ill often have a mars bar or similar just to stave off hunger on the way around.

I don't eat all that much as im usually to wrapped up in my game to think about it.

I don't think 2 litres of water, sandwiches and banana will help that much on the back 9. I played terrible front 9 and had great back 9's powered on a hangover, fags, sweets and a bottle of coke. :)

Would just like to say I never meant for anyone to feel as though I am 'lecturing' on here... simply trying to give advice from experience and education that might help the members of this forum play better golf.

That depends, can I have my full handicap? You also come across as sounding incredibly arrogant, not sure if that was what you intended?

Also, having a young professional golfer join our community, only to be ridiculed by the older chaps because they don't share the same opinion, is pretty disgraceful.

No wonder this place has a reputation.

Completely 100% agree with this.

And the subsequent post by strangely brown too.

I have been reading this thread and the others that you have started. Quite frankly why people need to ridicule and be generally unpleasent towards your advice/theories I do not know. Some of the attitude towards what you have posted sucks TBH. If people have nothing positive to add then it is best to say nothing. Anyway keep them coming mate I have found them a fascinating read. Are you hoping to get on tour or do PGA coaching badges or something else?

I always take 3 little bottles of mineral water and a chocolate bar out with me.

I usually drink all of the water over the round and have the chocolate bar at about half way.

Thanks for the support!!

I sure will keep them coming... do you have any specific topics or ideas you would like me to write about?

My ultimate goal is to become a touring professional and whilst trying to achieve that I enjoy writing articles etc on golf.

No worries. I am a golf student myself so any article/thoughts on the game is always well received by me!! What you doing at the moment then while your trying to get on the tours.

A bottle of water about 80% of the time and sometimes a snickers bar thrown in and thats it. If I were to peel a bananna after my tee shot I would have reached my ball by the time I peeled it ;)

Agree, but thats what the forum is like, show some etiquette on the forum as well as the course.

Yes exactly. I know a forum is here to encourage debate and people are bound to have different points of view on things. Fine but go about it the right way. As you say etiquette on the course should apply on here but sadly it does not seem to work that way.

What's with all the threads on health/fitness, diet, what to drink what not to drink. Surely a bottle of water and a Banana is enough for anyone during a round of golf

Or just water. I'm starting to wonder whether I've stumbled onto the "Picnic Monthly" forum by mistake!!!

Yes I know I am sceptical on the energy food and what to drink during a round as I poted in the one you qoute. As I said a Banana and a bottle of water is enough for me. Only time I can see you would need more than that is in really hot and humid temperatures like in Florida/Australia etc. However I do find it an interesting read and like to hear the theories behind it all.

3 litres to play golf???

I'm not having a go but I can't comprehend that at all! I'd be hosing all day! Not ideal considering where I play as there are no trees, and a beach which is usually busy with people. Not really any privacy to "whap it oot" if you ken what I mean!
