Up early in the morning to take no.1 son to Pirbright to start Army basic training. Absolutely bursting with pride for what he's achieved to get there but nervous as hell for him at the same time. Just hope the wife holds it together:mad:

Best of luck to your lad mate and I’m sure he’ll make you both proud, how ever many tears you shed tomorrow, there’ll be loads more when you attend his passing off parade.

Am sure she won't hold it together, it's a woman thing to show how proud she is. Seen it loads of times from Missis T.
Congrats and have a great day. Seems like Sainthacker Junior is growing up.

Good luck to the lad. Dad spent 23ish years in the British Army (Ulster Rifles - Royal Irish Rangers) and then another 20ish years with TAVRA seconded to the Army Cadet Force. Always wanted to join the RAF but cricket took me away from it when I was of joining age.

Have the up-most respect for the forces personnel and wish your lad the very best - tell him to knuckle down; do all the courses/qualifications he can get and make his way up the ranks; my Dad should have done a lot better out of it, if he had had his head screwed on but still extremely proud of the man for what he achieved.

Good luck to him - should have joined the RAF - nicer hotels and rates plus lovely holidays to Cyprus :D
