Efa cup

Alcoholic drink companies should not sponsor sports events, especially the EFA cup.
Sets a very poor example to young people.

Appreciate what you are saying, but....

So do Fast Food outlets, Newspapers, Sports Good manufacturers and, apparently Cola, Food companies and Banks.
Oil and Mineral industries are other recent examples of exploitation and Cotton and Sugar industries certainly aren't 'lily-white' either!

And cheating that goes on in Sport isn't helpful either!

Wrong end of the Marketing chain and far too sensitive imo.

Governments 'taxing' particular industries more than others is hypocrisy and a gangster approach imo too.

As there is no such thing as the "EFA Cup" not really worth worrying about who does or who doesn't sponsor it is there...

Stop being so pompous, England's FA started a year before Scotland.
You may have noticed that there are now hundreds of national FA's in the world. [maybe not!]
To equate it to The Open is daft as that would mean the FA cup was OPEN to all of the world's football clubs.

In the early years didn't Queen's Park (then Scotland's premier club) play in the FA Cup rather than anything organised by the SFA.

As for the Open; how many years was it before any player from outside Scotland participated.

I just find it very sad that the first major trophy in World football is now so de-valued by English clubs, managers, players and fans.

Mind you it was a Scotsman {SAF} who started the rot, following a crazy decision by the English FA.
Now they are selling their souls for a few American dollars.
Pretty tacky.

Pompous .... Just merely stating a fact dear boy... Down 'ere its "The Cup" and thats it... Think you'll find everywhere else in the world [except Scotland seemingly] its also known just as "The FA Cup"...

And, where have I said 'owt about THE OPEN?

.

Eh by some ie the so called big 4 or 5 because they have more lucrative endevours ...
Few teams near the bottom have to prioratise their first team squad to stay up ..
Most of the rest will take it serious .. i would love to win one of the cups because lets face it we aint likely to win the league , so for people to say its devalued is a bit too much of a generalisation IMO

Strangely enough the SFA cup is known up here as The Cup.
I believe the rest of the world calls it The Scottish Cup in the same way as The English Cup.

The Open comment was by another poster.

As with Craw I have and will always refer to it as the "Scottish Cup" not simply "The Cup" and I think 99.9% of Scottish Football fans do the same.
