A guy from work, recently bought a hard drive from China on eBay.

When the post turned up, all he got was a funny looking Chinese coin. He logged an item not received complaint, but eBay found in the sellers favour, because there was proof of receiving an item (the coin) by signed delivery, but said he could file an incorrect item received claim.

Now he hasn't done this yet, but he has spoken to another buyer who has bought from the same seller.
It turns out the coin sent is fake. So when you file the incorrect item claim, the seller agrees to resolve the problem if you ship the coin back. Here most people will give up, because shipping a coin to China will incur cost.
However if you do bother, the seller then claims you have sent a fake coin in place of his good one, and suddenly you're the bad guy!

Not sure what happens next, but never heard this one before, so thought I would share it.

Never been a massive eBay fan, but this just shows how the system can be played.

id probably contact

http://www.chinese-embassy.org.uk/eng/

and report it to them (not that they'll do anything)

but
then contact the seller and tell them you reported it to their embassy over here with regards to counterfeit Money and the embassy have assured you they will do everything in their power and if found they will execute them for counterfeiting

its not gonna get ur £ back but will put a smile on ur face when u hit that send message button

:D ;)

No idea, it was a 2TB hard drive, so would assume ~£50, any more than that and I don't see why you'd bother with the hassle of China and eBay, when you can buy such a thing here for not much more.

Then again, I don't know why you'd bother with China and eBay in the first place.
