I am note sure if anyone remembers my rant about people pulling ebay listings because of the price, but it has happened again and worse this time.

I wanted to try the new mizuno quadcut wedges and needed a 56 anyway, so looked on ebay and found an auction where the seller says he has only hit his 14 times, so I bid £32 and get it for £19.01 bargain, auction finnished on Sunday and I pay for it (includeing his ott P&P £12). Today (Tuesday) I get an email from him saying th price was to low and he will not sell it and refunded me my money.

To me this is a joke, not an auction, Ebay say they will warn him and as long as he doesn't do it many more times nothing will happen to his account.

So everyone you are free to sell what you want and only deliver when the price is right.

Rant over for now

I agree this a poor aspect of Ebay. I would suggest waiting for the seller to invoice you before you send money. Doesn't excuse the seller of course.

Sellers should put on a reserve price if they want a minimum amount but they dont because Ebay charge more to list it. I don't think Ebay should charge extra for reserve prices cos they'll get their cut if the item sells anyway.

Been looking at quadcut wedges too, ncie looking clubs

You've got to leave negative feedback, tell everyone what this seller does in no uncertain terms.

Report him.

I have, I asked what would happen they said they would speak to him and if he continued to do it a few more times, they may suspend his account, in other words seller can do what he wants no come back unless he really takes the mick.

I was about to buy some I5's for £150 starting bid but just didn't have the cash at the time, no one bid on them and so closed without sale.. I contacted the seller asking if I could buy them and what would be the price and yep you guessed it, he wanted £200 + p+p when he could have lost them for £150, i did get him down to £190 but to me that seems steep since I should have bought them for £150 and made him wait until my pay day.

Have snagged a few bargains on there but that was much easier in the early days of ebay.

Shame ebay don't police things more firmly. Mind you if you try to list something from one of the major brands they often will not allow you to list them. Shame they weren't quite that on the ball when the major counterfeiting ring was in action.

anything I've sold on Ebay i start at the price i'm happy to take. i never bid on anything that has a reserve. waste of time watching 25 bids and reserve not met. start at what you will sell for in my book.

Back in the good old days I got my CG11 Cleveland wedge for £19 inc p&p as the lady selling it she placed it under "other wedges" instead of brand name but when I look now they are ripping the pi5h right out of it.

I can imagine what would have been said if you told them that you no longer wanted the item!!! I can hear "You entered a legally binding contract". Shame it only seems to be a one way street with e-bay.

I sympathise, it sounds particularly annoying if you've also paid.

ebay seems rife with this kind of male cow poo.

I think there ought to be some sort of policy that means that if you offer an item with no starting price you either have to accept that price or lose your account for a period. That would probably encourage sellers to put a starting price.

I've given up with ebay t.b.h.

bad luck....just send negative f'back and be done with it.

I have been chasing and ranting at Ebay for a couple of days not much I can do - they will tell him off

I have been trying to complain but the do not have a complaints procedure, you can complain about sellers but not ebay is this not a legal requirement for a plc.

That's bang out of order, and I hope he didn't leave you negative feedback when you undoubtedly left some for him!?

An eBay Seller p***ed me off the other week. Was after some snowboard boots, found a decent pair, was winning at £36 with a few minutes left, had bid up to £55, got outbid at the last minute. 20 minutes later the seller emails me with a second-chance offer, saying the winning bidder didn't want them after all, but that I could have them for £55. I offered him £36, which I explained was my winning bid orignally. He said, "Errm, no...they're worth way more than that...I paid like £180 for them!".

I should have reported him.

did you buy them? I used to get an email telling me I was outbid and received one for a set of alloys but I was the only bidder and won. I know the seller must have got a mate to bid and knock me up but I'd only bid the $40 start price. I got them but there a load of conners on the site and it's got worse the past year or 2.

Another annoying things that seems to go unchecked on ebay is the way some people will repeatedly bid until they see what the current upper limit is and then retract their bids.

That and the ludicrously high fees for selling.

I use Snipe for all my bids. I got a Cobra S9-1 3 wood this way for £26 plus p+p. :D
