What an utter pile of poo.

I've been hunting for a set of Callaway jaws wedges with the MD groves since forever.
A set came up this week. My perfect set, 52, 56 and 60. All high bounce with S300 shafts. Lovely.

All good apart from the other person who I got into a bidding war with. Please say it isnt someone on here?

These are the wedges:

Not guilty. I have the very same wedges and they are very good, get loads of spin on them. Can get bargains on them now I think sure I have seen them at £50 each somewhere. £165 for a set of used does not seem that good a deal to me.

Just checked mine are the MD forged version. I bought mine from my Coach when they came out. I am sure he still has some in stock. Do you want me to ask him for you? Not sure what price they are though

Ah the joys of Snipe!

Just bung your max bid in and let the Snipe package handle the bids. Don't get carried away and don't even need to be about!

doesn't look like a sniper; bidding history and automatic bids suggests someone who simply put 165 in as a max bid about an hour before the bidding was due to end...

and nobody bid any higher

Well I got hold of a 56* wedge. Used it for the first time tonight. I really thought the Yank reviews of it ripping covers off balls and leaving loads of the skin on the face was tosh.... How wrong was I. It destroys balls, really does take chunks off. Looking forward to see how much it really spins the ball.

Get home after the range session to find a second chance offer sitting in my Ebay inbox.. The guy I was bidding against hasn't paid.. which is too convenient.

They do rip through golf balls like no tomorrow. They generate a lot of spin too much sometimes. I literally had to fly them right the way up to the flag as they would not run up to the pin at all the check on them was silly really having said that when you get fully used to them they are great

Shill bidding, usually the reason for a high price then a second chance offer.

Unless the item is very rare, only ever put in your maximum bid, and not a penny more. Ebay exploits a psychological effect of partial ownership, where you get used to the idea of having something once you are the high bidder, then overreact and overbid when someone exceeds yours. It also plays to peoples' competitive streak. Don't fall for it.

Yes , the Grooves are Crazy
I had a 50 deg Black Jaws in the bag for a bit, the spin is Mad, which can be good/fun, but the damage done to a soft covered Ball is ridiculous too, it literally leaves the cover on the wedge face
I bought a 50 - 56 - 60 , but have never used the other 2........dunno if i will.....??

Yup as all have said above its a simple case of mate(s) bidding the item up. The old eBay used to let you look more into the top bidders feedback and more importantly old items and their location. If I was bidding on something that was also being bid by someone local I would not bid.

Also I normally do not bid until its 3 mins to go, but it seems alot are sniping now .
