Normally play Cobra AMP cell irons but they are currently back with cobra to get the ferule/hosel sorted out. (the plastic is moving up the shaft and they will re-glue it back in their proper place).

As an emergency stop-gap, I ended up buying some Ping S59's the other night! The problem is, I love the Pings! They have such a small head and are shorter than the Cobras, but do feel instantly more workable and I just get a warm fuzzy feeling playing with Ping again. (I have had Eye2 and i15 in the past and currently G30 driver and G5 hybrid).

Now, do I put the £500 custom fitted Cobras straight back in? Or stick with the £75 S59's until they mis-behave??

Today I shot a net 75 (32pts)in terrible wind conditions where I only cocked up a couple of putts and got trapped by a couple of fairway bunkers off the tee. S59's assisted gamefully!

If you are enjoying playing with them stick with it! Something very satisfying about wielding old bats to great effect, giving them a second wind if you will. They are meant to be great clubs from what I have heard and forgiving for a small head. Make the Cobras work to get back in!

Cobras straight back in IMO, unless you enjoy using the pings more.

If the ferrule slips up the shaft again, hold it over a boiling kettle for 5 secs and you can slide it back yourself.

That nett 75 could have been a 72 if only you had the Cobra's in the bag!

Get them back in and keep the pings for holiday set/range/spare/loaners
