Anybody else get up at stupid oclock this time of year and get up the course before work?

Took advantage of the break in the weather this morning, got to the practice ground for 6am.
Did an hours chipping and 45 mins putting and still made it into work for 8am :)

Feel great as well, really sets you up for the day... greenkeepers were looking at me like I was mental haha

Think i'll make this a regular thing, I never have time to practice after work so this is ideal.
Only going to concentrate on the short game aswell....If I do this 2 or 3 times a week scores should tumble hopefully?!?!? shouldn't they?

Anybody else seen positive results from this amount of time spent on chipping and putting?

I'm the opposite as I have to take my wee boy to nursery in the mornings but his mum picks him up in the afternoon. So I'm up to the practice ground from 1800 til around 2000 (nice up there at dusk).
If I had time in the mornings then I would be up there as early as light would allow, sadly a toddler messes with my schedule :D (don't tell his mum I said that...)

To your point on the practice. I have spent the last 4 or 5 sessions just chipping and playing out of the practice bunker and I have seen a vast improvement in my approach game. However, be wary as, in my opinion, you can over do it and start to over complicate things. This week in about the mid irons so 3 or 4 sessions dedicated to them and then next week it will be long irons.
Putting session after every iron session as well but sadly my putting seems to be deteriorating, hopefully Mr Ping B60 will help when he finally arrives to save the day...

its great getting out at that time of the day i do quite often get 18 in when then is no comp on and back home for 9/9.30 keeps HID happy and gives me best part of the day with her and the little one.

I would love to but struggle to get out of bed at 7:45 as it is...Just not a morning person. Evenings are great however. 8-9pm Monday Putting then onto the range till 10. Last night fitting 14 in till around half 8.

Love this time of year

i honestly dont think you can do too much chipping around a practice green. as mentioned you might start trying things you wouldnt do in a competition but thats half the fun of it! stick at it!

I've been trying to do that this week, get up a 5:15, go to the park opposite and just practice a few things until about 6:30. As I have an hour travel to work and need to start 7:45 BUT I just keep pressing the snooze button.
So for now i will just have to keep making divots in my garden.

Some courses you are not allowed out till a certain time.

I think ours you can't go out before 7am. Give the green keepes time to swich the greens and change pins etc.

This is why I only use the practice facility to be honest.... although play is allowed from dawn to dusk I dont want to get in their way.
They are always doing somthing around the greens that time of the morning

had a nice 9 holes in the sun this morning before work. played nicely too, gets me through the tedium of a day in front of the computer. don't tell anyone but i changed my shoes in the car in the car park so i could nip on the train to work.

yes that was the other thing that i wasn't going to tell anyone. today i did play in jeans under waterproofs.
AND i took the waterproofs off in the car!!

I would go out and have 9 holes before work but not allowed on my course until 8:00am!!!

I could go and do some chipping, putting or go into the practice net though :D

Im always up bfore 7 to walk the dog , so this morning i decieded id walk part of my local course and have a look for some balls. I only walked 3 holes and found 10 good quality balls including 5 prov1 s. The mrs wasnt too happy the state i took the dog back in though lol. I didnt see another soul on the course the time I was there

I have never done it before work but I frequently did it at weekends. I had flexible hours so I usually started work before 8 and got to the course just after 4pm where I would then practice till 7pm.

Now I do go to the range on weekend mornings at 8am when it opens but from 9-11 there are a few kids coaching sessions for different ages so the place becomes over run and you get kicked off the practice area. My routine now is go for 8am, pitch, putt and chip, have breakfast then hit 50 balls then have a coffee then hit 50 more balls before going home.
