Surely it would be fairer for Kent to replace Durham. After all in other years they would have been promoted.

Reprieving Hants smacks of rewarding failure rather than success as would be the case if Kent went up.

But if Durham had played by the rules, they would have finished bottom and Hampshire would not have been relegated. Kent have absolutely no case to justify being promoted and their threat of legal action is pathetic.

Whereabouts in Hampshire are you from?

I just think that if there is to be any reward within this unfortunate situation it should be given for doing well not badly.

As for "playing by the rules" that seems to be an option that the ECB "advised" Durham not to do.

The day I live in Hampshite ..... Surrey through and through. I am being really serious here, if Durham had played by the rules they would have finished last. You don't promote two teams instead of one.

My point is that Durham could have played by the rules and solved their problems with outside finance but were persuaded by the ECB to not do so and subsequently punished by that same organisation for following their advice.

There is now a space available in Div 1 and that should be a reward, after all every other year Kent would have been promoted.

As for Surrey, Hants and Kent; I don't like any of them. All just jumped up Southerners!
