Dunlop Apparel.

I have this horrible vision of Dunlop kit taking over the world due to economy issues!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

I reckon everyone on tour must have a giggle at Westwoods terrible Dunlop attire. I am not a golf snob, but Dunlop gear is a step too far!

Yea but Westwood isn't wearing Dunlop gear, it simply has a Dunlop logo on...

And by the way, you ARE a golf snob.

Kellfire - You have shamed me!!! I fear you might be right!

He is right 100% I commented on this either in this thread or another yesterday, neither he nor Clarke wear anything that is remotely Dunlop, Lee wears a mixture of Hugo Boss and Qaja and Clarke used to wear Qaja not sure if he still does and they just stitch a Dunlop logo on just like the UPS logo on Lee's shirt, so then some gullible punters will go away thinking Lee and Darren are wearing the same clobber as me when in reality they couldn't be further from the truth.

I'm a recent convert to Sportsdirect and their range of Dunlop clothing. I have purchased numerous items from them and cant fault it for price or quality. I've also found Sportsdirect very good to deal with and their delivery is very quick, to the Isles anyway.

I have a pair of their waterproof over trousers, complete rubbish, not breathable so you sweat like a pig

Buy at your peril !

I recently bought a sleeveless knitted jumper thing and a charcoal tshirt, will report back on quality. for £20 they will keep me warm if nothing else.
For info though, Dunlop has more sporting heritage than Hugo Boss, I dont think the official Nazi uniform supplier during the run up to the second world war could be called 'sporty' in any way, stick to tacky aftershave.

Use loads of their stuff, trousers, shirts and their tour leather gloves are great. It's not becasue you wear Galvin Green of Footjoy that you will hit the ball better of further. The idea of paying £40 for a shirt is frankly daft.

Didn't the late great Seve used to wear Hugo Boss apparel:whistle:

I buy the trousers from sportsdirect BUT not the £7 ones i prefer the cotton pair as the £7 pairs are 100% polyester and after a few washes they seem to be creased for life, shirts are good though and i have a few.

I don't mind wearing cheap trousers. I have a couple of pairs of Dunlop Chinos and also own a pair of the pinstriped £7.00 jobbies. They fit ok, especially the chinos and wash up really well.
I will draw the line at polo's though. I prefer Ping tops, always good quality and if you shop around they're not too expensive. I also have a few Woodworm shirts, along with some Greg Norman ones. Greg Norman stuff is cheap, a lot of it is sold brand new by e-bay shops. You can get a decent pair of trousers for less than £15.00, shirts run out at anywhere between £12.00 - £20.00.
I wouldn't spend a fortune on sweaters either. One of the best I've got cost £9.00 from Asda. Washes up superbly, fits really well and hasn't lost it's shape.

I wouldnt clean the dip stick with any of it.

Horrible in a word.

Just to clarify your not a fan then:) Personally can't call it to much as I have only had 2 polo shirts of theirs in the past which I have to say were very poor quality felt cheap and tacky to wear and washed awful. So on that basis I will never buy anything Dunlop again.

I've a signed Westwood shirt from two years ago that has the Dunlop logo on and its made by Antigua

Really. I know he used to wear Antigua gear many moons ago. He must have liked it and stuck to it when he went to Dunlop and just had their logo's added. I know recently he has benn wearing Boss and Qaja apparel with the Dunlop logo stitched in. It's all a bit of a con really, suprised it is allowed what with trade descriptions false advertising and the like.

I ordered 5 Dunlop shirts and they were delivered yesterday. Wore one today for a round, and I was very very impressed. Comfortable to wear, quite stylish and did the job! For £8 it was a bargain. In the summer will be a big test, when perspiration kicks in, but so far, so good. If it lasts a year, then it is only £8 down the drain! I don't mind that

I quite like the polo shirts, and will be getting some soon. I tried on the waterproof bottoms not long ago, I think they were about 10 bucks, but when I went to tighten the waste string up, it tore a little bit, so discreetly put it back on the shelf. I paid £30 for some Adidas ones and am much happier with the quality.

I've always stayed away from the Dunlop gear as it is pretty nasty in terms of quality and style (which is all down to personal taste I know).

My father in law has bought quite a bit in the past and it doesn't last, but then you are not paying much for it.

For his birthdays and Christmas I always get home some decent gear from adidas, Nike, UA etc and he loves them.

He also had a set of waterproofs which were just like a set of bin bags, kept him dry on the outside but soaked with sweat on the inside!

Saying all that I DID buy a polo for £8 a few weeks ago as I liked the style, brown with various shaded hoops, 100% polyester breathable material. Worn and washed once so far.

Would never wear cotton polo or chinos for any sporting activity, bad idea to wear a material that soaks up moisture and retains it.
