Druids Golf

Since I lost a bit of weight I have been getting some bits off druids to tied me over until I get a stable size again

So got a jacket. Seems ok

Got 2 pairs of their trousers off eBay for £37 now that was a good price. However noticed "do not tumble dry" which is annoying. I had already ordered 2 pairs of shorts from them , so checked they said "tumble dry low on website" phew

They have arrived, "do not tumble" and one pair of shorts isn't the pair I ordered (different style)

£6 delivery and £3 return so £9 for one incorrect item and one not as advertised

Have to admit put me off a bit

Back to eBay found 2 pairs of under armour ones which I know are good quality for only £10 more

Will stick to the brands I know in future
You don't pay for return if they sent the wrong item though surely? As that's on them.

That's the part that's made me cross , I selected 'incorrect item received" and it's their mistake and I was charged £3 for a label

The frustration is I'm entitled to a refund of the original postage aswell as the item has been sent incorrectly (one pair) and the other clearly on their website is advertised wrong (the tumble thing) but why does a customer have to mention their rights to get what their entitled to? Just refund your mistake

It's put me off using them again

I'll stick to UA bottoms and FJ tops

@PJ87 I wouldn't be put off by the 'don't tumble dry' label. Golf trousers are made with material that dries in half an hour naturally. They aren't like denim or chinos.

You can probably shove them in for 10 minutes anyway without doing any harm

It's not so much put off by this it's the fact that clearly on the website it says

Tumble dry - low

But on the label on the shorts itself
PXL_20250219_175242551_copy_1632x1228.jpg

We have a clear label saying "do not tumble dry" and the symbol for do not tumble.. not for tumble dry low

So they aren't as advertised

Plus the other pair they sent were completely the wrong pair of shorts , these have draw string not belt loops which I wasn't overly a fan of anyways but they sent one that doesn't even have draw string just elastic waist

The material is horrible aswell to be fair (on these pairs anyways)

The trousers will see me through until next winter and I'll prob get some new under armours

Who still reads the labels? Just put everything in on the same wash cycle and tumble dry if needed.

Known as a "bloke wash!"

Understands the workings of the national maritime radio network, but can't operate a washing machine beyond a simple cycle 😁😁😁
I am doing it with the 'blessing' of my wife - and she used to work in a textiles lab doing this sort of testing for firms like M&S, so who am I to question an expert :ROFLMAO:

Totally agree, after numerous experiences with them I won’t touch them again

Yeah it's a shame , the quality of the shorts they sent didn't feel amazing. Think they were £20 a pair , the under armour I found were £30 a pair and the quality is night and day difference. Sometimes you pay for a name but the material just feels more comfortable.

I'm sure they suit a lot of people but not for me unfortunately

That's why we have a heat pump tumble , with the almost 1000 washes we do per year the heat pump saves a lot of energy (panels more than cover it) , time and protects the clothes that say they can't be tumbled.

That said when shopping I look for clothes that can be to avoid any issues..so it's more that on their own site said one thing but label said another. False advertising or simply lazy advertising

Well you should….some clothes like Goretex state don’t use powders/liquids that include softeners.
Other clothing can shrink when tumble dried.
So if you pay for quality clothing, it pays in more ways than one to check the washing instructions 👍

I would say all waterproof clothing shouldnt be washed with normal detergents or have soifteners used as the wettign agents will destroy the waterproofing.

Sadly most people ignore clothing labels thinking they know best. Using the correct program, temperature and detergents does make a difference but it's often ignored:)

Looks like I should have used an emoji so people could see I was being flippant 🤭

Obviously for more specialist clothing, like goretex, I will read the instructions but for the majority of clothes they all get washed together -saves water and energy and does no harm. Most "Dry Clean" only labels mean that the companies didn't do the testing required to clear for normal washing (and dry cleaning isn't dry anyway).

Just had to check I hadn't inadvertently stumbled onto Mumsnet!

Personally, I like and rate Druids stuff. Got loads and never had a problem. Find that the quality v price is excellent especially if
you buy in one of their perpetual sales!
