hey guys. im going to be working in knightsbridge for a while and i will not survive without hitting any balls. just wondering if you can suggest a driving range in that area? i am working in arundell court right beside harrods so any place close to that would be good. i dont have any transport though so would probably need to get a taxi if there is someplace close. hanks in advance for youre help

Sorry to be only partially helpful but I know there was an indoor golf centre within a couple of minutes of Harrods. Can't remember the name though as haven't been for a while.

Pretty sure it is where Hugh Grant has his lessons.

I've been to Urban Golf in Soho, it is a bit of fun and will scratch your golfing itch. Quite expensive though. Lots more than a driving range.

There is one in Earlsfield which is a little way away but it only goes about 120 yards and then into a net. It's not much cop to be honest unless you are a beginner or just very very desperate to hit a golf ball.

I was working in Central London for a while and there just isn't anywhere easily accessible, I'm afraid.

You'd really need a car for all of them and be prepared for a lot of time stuck in London traffic.

Good luck and let us know if you find somewhere.

i checked those ranges out and there all too far away to travel to. im staying in a b&b just off of sloane square which is about 15 mins away from where i'll be working.

all i am looking for is a driving range where i can spend my weekends practising and go 1-2 nights during the week. i will be desperate to hit balls but i want to practise my whole game. i might just have to wait untill the weekend and then jump on a bus or something. dont fancy getting onto public transport with my clubs though

plan on taking my clubs with me mate, wouldn't be the same with hire clubs if you know what i mean? i have looked online and theres knightsbridge golf school but i went on the aa route planner to see how far id have to travel and the nearest one is 70 miles away

As far as im aware there are no "Ranges" anywhere local to Knightsbridge. Urban Golf as mentioned provide you with Taylor Made Burner irons, so no need to take your own. There is a new range opening up near Bishopsgate but I think they will be closed weekends.

Sorry - but you're looking at having to travel I'm afraid. Not sure what's nearest when heading out westwards from Knightsbridge, but going southwards, the nearest are Croydon & New Malden

(Ok, as someone mentioned, there's the Central London Golf Centre but it's sh*te. To put it in context, when they built it, they put a big net over the existing bowling green & called it a driving range. If it's now up to 120yds, then they've extended it...)

every range just seems miles away and i dont have a car to get there. this is going to be a nightmare what with the weather about to get 'better' and the season starting i wont have time to get any practise in. im coming home every 10-14 days but not hitting any balls within that time is going to be sh1te!

Hi,
I use a metro golf range in Mill Hill, its about 8-10 miles from central London.
You can get the 113 bus from Oxford Circus, its about 35-40 mins, then a 5-10 minute walk.
It has a restaurant,a 9 hole pitch and put, and a practice green with a bunker.

Hope this helps.
