you were fit for the driver and he didn't tell you about kick points?

Put simply it is the point in the shaft where it starts to bend. Different places create different characteristics. Think of a ruler hanging over the edge of a table if you have 3/4 hanging over and you twang it, it should be quite easy to do so and the force created will be minimal. Push the ruler back so only 1/4 hangs over and twang it again the force should be greater in the twang. So a shaft with a low kick (1/4 ruler) will kick with greater torque and helpt to create more spin. The high kick (3/4 ruler) will kick with less torque and produce less spin. I hope this makes sense I ain't had my coffee yet.

Reza is very long. I've just looked at the driving stats. for the USPGA tour and Zach Johnson is only 275. Zach won the Masters last year! I'm guessing that Reza is a low handicap player (scratch to 3 maybe). If not, he should stop worrying about length and focus on other parts of his game.

It says above that he is off 15.

I am always a bit sceptical about claimed length off the tee, unless you have a certifiable way of measuring it (like a gps). Pacing from yardage markers is not anywhere near reliable. Nor is using yardages from the back fence of the driving range.

Everyone over estimates how far they hit the ball. It is not til you get a gps that you realise by quite how much.

Not everyone.....as I always know my distance to the green (within a yard or two) I always know my distance from the tee....be it white, yellow or the mats. It's sobering to work it out.....

I've just spent some time measuring my course on Google Earth. Ok its hard to see the tees clearly but for the most part the yardages on the card are about right.

I then started measuring to where I generally hit the ball and have found my yardages to be there or thereabouts what I expected. Seems I'm a reasonable judge of distance after all.
