Ok, this is not about custom fit but rather having some fun and experimentation.

I have an R9 driver 10.5 stiff shaft, get on ok with it. Played with the positions and weights for a week when it was new, then set everything neutral and have never touched the adjustability since.

But I do fancy having some shaft choices, I can get the R9 shaft sleeves off eBay, (Chinese jobs no doubt but I'm sure they will work).

Then I will look out for second hand shafts on the eBay etc.

My question is this, I have no real idea about shafts, torque, kick point etc etc. So I'm hoping for some advice on ones to watch for.

My swing speed is a consistent 98.5-101 mph, my 'current' flight with the R9 stock stiff shaft is a low ish draw, bad shot an OTT pull hook.

launch 10-14 degrees, spin 2100-3100, landing angle 23-30 degrees.

Any one want to take a punt on what shafts may suit me? Ideally looking for names and reasons

I would like a high launch big carry shaft for when is wet without wind (Maybe reg flex?) and a worm burner that runs for windy dry days.

I don't have any recommendations, but I have got two shafts for my Nike driver. One I use, and one I don't. The idea was that I could use the lower flighted one in the wind. However, it feels so different it takes weeks to get used to swapping it over. As a result, I just leave the stock shaft in it.

There will be quite a few shafts out there which look good on paper, but are horrible to hit. One swing, and you will go 'yuck'. This can get quite expensive very quickly, even buying second hand.

I already had a spare shaft, so it only cost me £25 for the adaptor, and £5 for a grip. Still a waste of £30. Bung a £50 shaft in there, and it would be a total waste.

Good luck, but if you currently hit your R9 well, leave it alone.

I have a Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki 63 in my driver for higher launch but also have a Grafalloy Prolauch Red which takes about 30 seconds to put in and gives a nice lower trajectory for the windy days.

I think you might be better off with one good mid launch shaft that suits you. The UST V2 65g is a good choice with some spin and a good flight. I doubt that you need regular, as a hook usually suggests a soft shaft.

If you wanted two shafts, UST Axiv Core Black or Blue for high launch with stability, and Grafalloy Pro Launch Red for low flight.

I guess i'm mainly thinking for spring, autum & winter golf, a shaft to max the carry when there is little run to be had.

Therefore I should have time to get used to it.

I'm in agreement. If you've got money to burn, spend it on playing some nice courses or taking lessons with a good pro.
