Drill needed

Right, for as long as I can remember I've always cut across the ball slightly and had a steep angle of attack. This can mean anything from a gentle fade to a huge slice with the occasional massive pull.

I've got my handicap down from 27 to 20 over the past month or so however I want to move it to the next level by getting rid of the slice,fade, what ever you want to call it.

Anyone know a good drill to get me attacking from inside the line? or more importantly taking the club back on the correct line?

I cant listen to it at work but it looks a good simple drill so will listen to it at lunch time then hit the range tonight and try to make it work.

Find an upslope and play hundreds of practice shots with the ball well above your feet. This will make the swing flatter and more from the inside.
Take that feeling back to normal flat lie shots.

Am i right in thinking I wouldn't really need to be hitting a ball? just practising brushing the grass on an upslope would do the trick?

All ideas welcome because i'm willing to try anything.
 
Always best to hit actual golf balls if possible - you'll see the ball flight which is important and develop muscle memory and strength plus next time you find yourself with that lie in an actual match you'll know exactly what to do and where the ball is going to go. :cool:
 
Problem is I dont think we have anywhere on our practise ground with that sort of lie, I might have to take a bag of soil over and buld my own mound!

This drill get's you swinging round the body doesn't it?

yes you have, the only drawback is you'll have to stand downslope from the 'grass' tees and fire back at them. best recommended when unoccupied.
 
Played your track on monday steve, thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'll be doing a review when i get time.

Only managed 31 pts but couldn't drive the ball at all so wasnt too unhappy. It's in lovely condition.

On the practice ground/driving range with a five iron, tee up a ball as high as possible and using a split grip (hands as far as possible on the grip) try to clip the ball off the tee as straight as possible. It is best to only use a half swing for this drill until you get the hang of it.
I have been using this drill to stop me flipping my hands at impact and hitting the left, but it can be used just as effectively for a fade/slice cure.
 
Just stick to the 3 ball drill. Do itfor 10 mins each time you go the range and it will be natural pretty quickly. I did it 3 times a week for 10 mins, then hiut the balls without the drill.
 

I've recently started doing a version of this on the range, but using a single tee where the furthermost ball would be. It seems to be working a tad, so I think I'll be giving it a regular go every time I'm on the range.

But with all these things, it's a case of hitting thousands of balls with it to get it ingrained in the muscle memory, isn't it.
 
Yes pretty much but you will be surprised at how quickly you pick it up, just do two quick practice swings inbewteen each shot and you cover a thousand repetitions 3 times as quick. :)
