Doug Sanders RIP

Passed away yesterday at the age of 86.

My first ever golfing memory was him missing that 3 footer to win the Open in 1970.

20 tour wins and runner up in a Major 4 times is a very decent record.

One of my earliest golf memories was of Doug nearly being hit on the head by Jack Nicklaus's putter in the play-off. Brutal game I thought.

A very colourful character who apparently lived life to the full! RIP DS.

Very interesting guy buy all accounts, a bit before my time though so no real live memories.

Famous quote about "that" miss - “It doesn't hurt much any more. These days I can go a full five minutes without thinking about it.”
