The Open for Troon in 2016.
South Ayrshire Cooncil in for another goldmine with it's two Open venues.

In Scotland for three out of four years.
'Disgusted, Tumbridge Wells' will no like that.

Disgusted from Solihull also doesn't like it- started post on R&A bias - should learn about demographics. Great course though:thup:

Where's Tumbridge Wells??

I live near Tunbridge Wells..

Has it lost its 'Royal' status?

Great Thai Food was available when I worked there though - that was the reason I chose it over a couple of other offers (including lunchtime golf on simulator!)!

When Independence day comes along, will England (plus Wales/N Ireland/isle of Man/isle of Wight get 91% of the Open rota ...;)

Castletown and Freshwater would make fantastic replacements for Muirfield and somewhere else :)

I have not played the Old Course. [nor have I any desire to.]
For me the 'Home of Golf' thing is just a pile of Poo.

I hope you enjoy the experience. It is a hookers paradise with loads of room. If it is windy lots of knock down half shots and don't be embarrassed to putt from 30 yards short of the green.
A caddy is always a recomendation for a course with so many blind shots. Share one [with a big tip] if you are in a group.

Why would a Scottish organising body send it out of an Independent Scotland ? They'll all be held up here after that happens :)

i have no idea whatsoever, but it sounds like as good an excuse for a heated friendly debate as any :)

PS - It is not Scottish - it is European, or at least the Royal surely refers to a royal Union ... he he he (what do i know ?)

The Old Course at Troon, not St A's. Hence why I posted in this thread - confused dot com!
