2 quality things happen during the same round..?

Only half the course was open today - the back 9 has some new lakes in it..

First time round, on the 9th, Fragger tees up his ball. He's using a broken tee (cheapskate) and is having trouble keeping the ball on it...
Eventually it stays. He settles, he swings back and halfway through the downswing the ball topples off the tee. Fragger hits the very top and it goes about 30 yards. Cue big smile on Imurg's face...

2nd time around on the 7th(par 5), I drove into thick rough on the right. Managed to hack it out to the other side of the fairway but it just runs through into the first cut. It's sitting well down and I have 212 yards to the pin but I have to go round some bunkers at about 180.
Set up for the draw with my 5 wood. Swing through and the ball goes almost exactly where it's supposed to, ending up on the green 15 feet away, just missed the birdie but an easy par.
Cue another big smile on Imurg's face!

2 good things in one round - you gotta love golf...

Ni

Not sure - he was keeping the card ans stayed pretty quiet...

I know I didn't have a good front 9 but a decent back.......

I did manage to get 2 x 4 pointers, ( OK 1 was a Mulligan after the ball fell off the tee), Never seen imurg laugh so much, the term "Belly Laugh" is not something you wish to see often. Par 4 on a 2 shot hole

The other was a quality 2 on the 205 yard par 3. again with a shot,

It was 17 -12 on the first 9, and 15- 18 on the 2nd 9

Fragger wins 32-30, some good approach play today, driving was iffy

Still at least we got out

Fragger :)

Played a few today, course is in fantastic condition.

Drainage?

Very wierd....

The front 9 is in almost perfect condition once you get off the 1st tee. Ok not firm but not overly soft bearing in mind the deluge we had.
The 18th has 2 new lakes on the fairway short of the green - just pools of it..
In the space of 100 yards you go from fairly solid ground to 3 inches of standing water the size of a tennis court..
Some of the back 9 is probably ok, it's over similar terrain to much of the front but the route to get to those holes is on the side beyond the 18th so will be sodden.
Hopefully all will be gone by friday but not banking on it.
