Morning all

I am looking for three golfers who are looking to hit the ball further. If you are someone who feels like they should be longer off the tee and you do not get the most out of your potential power you could be an ideal candidate.

If selected you will receive a lesson on how to generate more power as well as some equipment advice. This will take place on Monday November 15th at the Belfry National Golf Academy. You will need to make your own way to the Belfry on the morning of the 15th and will be required for around 2 hours.

If you would like to be considered for this opportunity could you email the following to paul_o’hagan@ipcmedia.com

Name
Age
Handicap
Home club
30-50 words about your current driving/long game

I will send further information to the selected three candidates.

Thanks

Paul

Don't think I'd like to hit the ball any further into the timber!! :D

Distance, I'm not to worried about. Direction is another matter. :D

Though I wouldn't want to to feature in this as I'm still waiting for the Mizuno invite. ;)

ps. I don't think anyone else is interested in a Mizuno fitting session. :D So just put me down for it. I'll even go if it's on my wife's birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc.

(Predictable. Moi!!)

Funny how amateurs view the game differently. Pros want to hit it as far as possible then worry about straightening it out.

Anyone who thinks they don't need extra distance is kidding themselves.

email on the way.

Do my eyes deceive me? I think not.

I'm putting my name down.

Please let it be me, this is ONE thing that I've never been able to fix.....after all these years.

:)

After reading Homer's distances on a thread yesterday I think that you should pencil his name in :D
Rubber stamp smiffy, homer and tiger in there. That would be some battle royale :)

Lol! Not for me brendy for three reasons.

1. I'm still learning to hit it straight
2. I don't have a driver yet
3. I'm waiting for the wedge fitting and masterclass opportunity ;)

Whilst I think this is a great opportunity (yet again) from the GM team, as I mentioned, I'm holding out.

Twire and Robobum make a very good point. Though I suspect that most of us tend to shoot our best scores when we can find and keep the ball in play. Whether we knock it 250 or 230 is almost irrelevent. It's whether we can find the damn thing after-wards.

Of course I'd like to hit the ball further, but I'm quite happy with my length. In fact, I'd quite happily loose 10 yards per club if they all went straight every time.

What makes interesting reading here, is that the club manufacters constantly advertise their products as being longer, predominately. And yet, the replies on here seem to suggest that is not what makes us tick. Accuracy does.

Despite all that. Good luck to all those entering. I'm sure it'll be a valuable experiance.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to hit the ball further, and if it's swing technique rather than equipment then they'd probably have to address any glaring swing faults sending the ball offline as part of the instruction.

I'd much rather hit an 8 iron into a green than a 6, or a 6 instead of a 4.

I just don't think I'm particularly short (driving not height before anyone says it) and it would benefit someone else much more than me.

Hopefully the 'tips' will appear on here after the event as well :)
