Yes, blue Sharpie line on the ball aligned with the point I want to hit it to.

Not sure why you wouldn't as it's still legal.

It can be difficult mentally.
Example, I don't see right to left putts well when I'm over the ball, if I aim a line on the ball at right lip, it looks like it's going left of the hole which makes it very difficult to trust in a tournament.

What line? I rarely even mark the ball unless its in someone's way or has dirt on it. Can't be bothered with all the faffing about. I pick a spot a foot in front of the ball, on the target line to the hole, and aim to knock the ball over that.

Since when did a ball not on someone's line deflect their ball? If its between them and the hole, even a few feet off their line I'll mark it, otherwise they can always ask, if they're that precious.

What has that got to do with marking a ball, unless you're worried about a noisy ball that needs to be muffled in a pocket?

I'm not bothered where people stand providing I'm not going to whack them when swinging. Noises and reasonable chatter doesn't bother me when I'm playing, although I'd rather not maintain a conversation mid-swing. Equally, I know other players prefer quiet and on occasion prefer a player to stand in a particular place. Again, I will sometimes ask "am I ok here?"

If I feel my actions are impacting on another player I will do something about it, especially slow play. But as for marking a ball every single time... don't be silly.

I use the line printed on the ball or the logo. I really struggle to line up putts, this just helps as much with confidence as much as physical. As mentioned on picking out a target in front of the ball, I found that I "looked for things to line up too, sort of grabbing my attention and taking away from the actual line I want. Using this method has improved my putting and doesn't really take any longer to line up than a normal putt. My biggest problem is pace, I really struggle committing enough to the distance and end up with the right line but short.

I'm on twitter but barely bother with it, I really don't understand why anyone except famous people put out tweets.
I use it for messaging live radio shows as part of the audience, I couldn't imagine why anyone would be interested in anything else I had to say.

Just because a lot of people do it doesn't mean it's either right or necessary.

In order to justify their stance of alway marking a ball, the only arguments I ever see are from really weak, negative thinking. If it affects you negatively to see a ball thats not on your line, you arent thinking properly. You should be thinking "great, a simple right to left ... "

I would like the rules to only allow the ball to be replaced once. Once on the ground it's in play. That would stop people wasting time trying re-line up their line.

No. Its pretty much impossible. If i put a 4 ft long alignment stick down, its hard to get it lined up. A 1/2" line on a ball? No chance.
