Do you use a line on your ball to aim your putt?

Or do you just pick a spot a foot or two in front of the ball to roll it over?

Sometimes. Haven't really determined whether it's better to use all the time or not.

It would be detrimental to a lot of golfers as they don't physically line up where they think they're aiming, and subsequently make compensations which often work for them, a line would throw that out.

I use the line. It's quite bold on the vice golf balls. I always check it's line with where i want to aim and have improved recently so can see the line rotate smoothly during most putts.

Does it help in one particular direction more than the other? ie left to right or vice versa?

I use one - and practice using an alignment stick to ensure that the putter face is square........

Never have, never will.
And anyone who does......no problem with you doing it unless you take a week making sure it's lined up exactly the way you want it.
Played a Club Match years ago against a guy who took upwards of 20 seconds doing this on every putt..even tap ins.
Lost the will to live but won the match......

Good job he wasn't doing Aimpoint too....

No. Its pretty much impossible. If i put a 4 ft long alignment stick down, its hard to get it lined up. A 1/2" line on a ball? No chance.

As I posted on twitter this morning:-

"It's so irritating when a player goes down to move their ball 0.001mm stands up bends down stands up bends down and then still misses"

With your views on Aimpoint I don't think you want to follow him.... ☝👆👈👉🤘🏻🖖✋✌🖕

Lol 😃

I'm on twitter but barely bother with it, I really don't understand why anyone except famous people put out tweets.
I use it for messaging live radio shows as part of the audience, I couldn't imagine why anyone would be interested in anything else I had to say.

No, really, what did you have for breakfast?

What line? I rarely even mark the ball unless its in someone's way or has dirt on it. Can't be bothered with all the faffing about. I pick a spot a foot in front of the ball, on the target line to the hole, and aim to knock the ball over that.
