Do you play golf for money?

Makes the game more fun, doesn't it?

Not for me. £1 on the par three or a small 50p/50p/50p for front/back nines etc.
When I played in my teens and twenties I used to play for money, £5,£10, £25... it starts to get serious.
I used to gamble heavily but HATE losing so now...... I play the game to relax. I don't see it as me against my playing partner, more me vs the course OR me vs myself.

I am not averse to a small wager to give a game the edge but anything more than a tenner would spoil the experience.

Have only done it a few times

A) Cos im crap
B) All the people I play against are a bit good

Usually only play for the beers.
Reminds me of the post about playing for £1 a hole and rolling over the winnings on every hole. OUCH!

I have never bet on golf and have no idea how the bets work (haven't a clue about skins). so the only time I was invited to bet I declined.
the fact that I don't think my game is up to it is a factor though as it turned out I beat them both by quite a margin.
