Carrying on from the "How many" balls thread....

If you find a TopFlite/Dunlop/Pinnacle etc etc...

Do you keep it or let the Golfing Gods have it for some other unsuspecting player to collect?

If its a ball I use I'll keep it (obviously!) but if not it stays where it is. I may even tread it in lightly so someone else might dig it up, realise is crap and get cross! :o

I've got too many old ones to need any more.

we dont have a collection pot, the juniors probs have better kit than me, rich folks! lol
I tend to throw them in the river if i dont play them, or give them to a playing partner if they dont mind that they are crap!!

Pick up nearly everything.
Anything apart from top quality balls go into the field by the course before or after rounds.
Any scuffed quality balls go into the practise bag.

I definitely pick them all up, take them home and add them to the "balls I'm happy to hit over the hedge" collection.
Thank goodness i have farmland over the hedge, rather than aiming at suburbia - not that that would necessarily stop me ;)

I'm with you Imurg, I'm a bit of a ball snob. If it's not something I'll use it gets tossed back, normally deeper into the rough than I found it :)

Any bricks get chucked deeper in the bushes but if it's something I use then I keep it:) Never play with the ball you find in the same round as you find it as you're gauarenteed to lose it!

I'm a finders keepers man!

Lost a couple yesterday in a disastrous medal round. Pretty miffed as they were both brand new Titleist. Some buggers gona be happy when they find them. Much the same as when I find a quality ball!

Top-flites, Pinnacle, whatever, they're still good for practice.

My playing partners swwm less fussy than me so they get the found balls if they are in decent shape. Battered ones stay where they are.

I also let my playing buddies keep the new balls i am given if they aren' ones that suit my game. The god thing then is that they give me any they find that are the ones I use.

I always pick them up as hate looking for my ball and then spot one only to find it's not mine after all.

I'll keep any old ball, other than a well mashed up super-cheap rock. If they're no good to play with (which most of the time they aren't) they'll go in the practice bag.
Eventually, balls get recycled and sent to charity shops.
I often find a dozen balls in a plastic cover thing in/at a supermarket, some sort of re-hit-me brand, Wilson Ultra, Precept, random ti, etc. etc. I keep these plastic boxes and fill them with 12 useable balls to pass onto charity.

I keep anything like a Pro V or other premium make but anything else usually gets left for those behind. On similar lines what do you do with other bits of kit you might find like gloves etc. Do you keep those yourself (practice glove) or leave them in the locker room and hope the owner reclaims them. What about clubs and headcovers. I'll alaways pick these up and usually leave the club in the pro shop and pin the headcover to a noticeboard

Its a good job someone picks up headcovers - CVG's hybrid cover falls off every time. Its been handed in every time too.
Don't have the same problem myself.

I usually pick them up and stick them on the front of the bag and have a bash at trying to pull off those mad shots you see the pro's hit. when noones about though.... Like that shot Tiger hit at the 9th in the masters ....I tried it last week with a pinnacle and hit it dead straight right.... :D :D :D Go fogure.....
