Do we want him back?

I am not a fan of what Woods has done off the course, but there again people make mistakes but not many have to have it fully played out in the media spotlight. I think he has left a positive legacy on the game, getting more kids involved when he was at hit peak and of course the Tiger Foundation which raises millions for charity. He arguably was at the peak about five years ago and while I'm pleased he has work hard enough to regain top spot (if not tonight then surely soon) but while I think he has a major or two left I don't think he's capable of breaking Jack's record.

Implying that Tiger has nobody to challenge him..?

No, the opposite, implying that Tiger has a great deal more challengers. He's not playing against just a few people as Jack did (like Player/Palmer/Trevino) but he's playing against a whole lot more people who have the skills to win (which is why no one else has amassed 6,7,8 majors) like they did in Jack's era.

After Jacks era came Faldo, Seve, Watson and they dominated for a while... In Tiger's era NO ONE ELSE has dominated.

Simply ignoring the fact that Tiger has bought awareness to another level especially to the ethnic minorities, to me that smells of ignorance. We all know back in the day what golf was like regarding race.

I completely agree that the TV guys go mad for Tiger when he is on form, but that said he needs to be on form. If he continues playing like he has done over the last few weeks it will make great viewing and be a great tester for our European players. Going into the Masters we have some great players up there and if Tiger is playing well its going to be even better viewing. Can't wait.

Do you honestly believe the huge spread of global golf is due the colour of one mans skin.
I know what golf was like 'back in the day' for social exclusion though

Sorry but what are you trying to say?

That you're statement was absurd, thought that was clear. The guys raises millions for charity, so theo people that's helped out. As for the players, I bet there's noting that isn't grateful for the ridiculous increase in money since he came along. Which his popularity with sponsors has directly influenced.

I like watching him....But id also like to see the guys that are struggling to make the cut also....That can make for good TV much like the top of the table teams in the football all vying for first and second place....But you've the other battle going on at the other end to stay up...Same as those players trying to save their card.....

Tiger is good to watch though....Its the shots that he plays that amaze me......When he's on song he works the ball around the course....Hitting all different types of shorts....When he's off though its hard to know why they still give him coverage....

For me i dont think that there is a player on tour mentally good enough to compare to Tiger yet.....
When he's on form likr hr is now as has been said in other posts everyone else is playing for second place....I dont think that there is a player on the tour that when they are playing at full tilt are even good enough for Tiger at full tilt.

Oh course we want him back, it doesn't matter what hes done off the course anymore. He's playing good golf now and that's what everyone wants. Its good for the game to have possibly the greatest player ever to play game back at his best.

And as far as the coverage goes there's nothing that will be done about that until sky start doing their own coverage and not piggybacking someone else s. that the way the NCB/the golf channel want it tiger on the tube. that's clearly what gets them viewers in america. Personally i have no problems with it as i like tiger and golf as a whole. Ill watch any golf that's on the TV, even if ive seen it and know what the outcome is. I just love golf that much.

In a word yes! We may live in a world that is becoming more and more equal, although some of the "out of bound" posts make me believe differently. But he has undoubtedly increase minority ethnicities readiness to take up the sport. If you think that's not the case then I wish I was that naive. The fact he's amazing at golf willow helped also.

he is brilliant from the front.

In answer to the OP, he was never away..........where have YOU been :smirk:

You only need to look at todays crowds to know Tiger made an impact. A positive one. Were the crowds as diverse back in the day?? I'm guessing not. Even non golf fans have heard of Tiger and his dominance.
