I know everyone watching this weeks Bay Hill must have spotted it, but it appears the tiger show is back in full swing. In recent times we've had a pretty fair coverage. The US competitors getting a bit more coverage but in general a fair share for everyone. This week they have probably shown every single tiger shot. Sometimes showing replays whilst others have birdie putts to make.

Now I'm a fully paid up Tiger Woods fan boy, having grown up with him being the young pretender to fully fledged superstar. So I have no problem watching him, but if as it appears that he might actually be back (top of fedex and world rankings if he wins tonight)! What's everyone's thoughts?

Do his past misdemeanours leave a sour taste or are you happy to just be watching possibly the greatest golfer to play the game? As poulter once said when he's on form everyone races for second place, and with Rory still to consistently perform, his ranking points tally whilst world number one was a lot lower than previously required. Are we set for more dominance?
 
I think we are. I love watching Tiger so no qualms here but agree it would be nice to see all the others especially the Europeans but the US broadcasters are pants when it comes to that.
 
I suppose they could be slightly defended in that he was in the hunt so therefor deserved air time. I guess the acid test will be in a few weeks. If he cracks Augusta I truly believe the rest of the world is in trouble. That night sound disrespectful to some clearly world class players, but in all sports there's always a top dog, and golfs appears to be back.
 
It looks like the TV coverage might be going down the 50% Tiger, 50% everyone else route again, which used to be very boring.
 
In his current form then there is no more exciting player to watch than Tiger. His swing is nearly there but still fragile at times and he can hit it anywhere. Then we get to see him hit miracle shots like his putts yesterday to save his score. I was disappointed that we didn't get to see his playing partners shots though.
I love watching him and when he was away golf was poorer for it in my opinion.
 
My only reservation is the extent to which the coverage is skewed by his presence. If he's not in contention I don't want to see every shot he plays. I'd rather see some golf than tiger warming up at the range. Likewise I don't think all his shots need analysed to death; have you noticed how often they replay his shots from the blimp? Interesting but why so many of his shots and so few from anyone else?

The other thing that annoys me is the way after each round the American interviewer takes him through shot by shot on his round - they don't seem to do that with anyone else. In fairness to him, it looks like that tries tiger's patience as well.

I'll go along with this.
He gets too much coverage to the detriment of the other players when he's not in contention.

Yeah last night you could see his enthusiasm wain towards the end of what seemed like shot 20! By all means pick a few out but way OTT! I guess the blimp has limited camers so they train it on one place, and that's always gonna be woods for US, or many others I suspect. At least this year Augusta is on Sky and BBC so we can keep an eye on our boys. Though think they might need a bit of help at the moment. Ross aside not in great nick. And rose could fall hard if he crumbles today.
 
I have to agree that he does get too much coverage when not in contention, but I have to say that, for me, there is nothing more exciting to watch than a Tiger charge on the back 9 on a Sunday. No-one else gets me as interested as when he's hunting down his latest win. So for me, I'm more than happy for him to 'be back' :)
 
Great to have him "back" for me, great for the game and to watch. Yep the tv companies over cover him at times (but then thats the natural reaction for a business chasing the advertisers bucks) but golf is better for having him playing well and hopefully it will inspire a few to push themselves further to challenge him
 
The quicker the better Tiger gets back to dominating the game. Its a privilege to witness.
As in most sports, greatness in this form rarely comes round so fast.

He doesn't even need 19 majors to be considered the GOAT! In my eyes he already has accomplished that.

Even if he gets 19 he still won't be the GOAT!
 
If Tiger wasn't playing I wouldn't watch. I try to make a point of watching Tiger play, rather like millions do for Man U, Chelski or Arsenal.

Just my opinion; it depends how you categorise the GOAT, I suppose. If it's purely a numbers game then if he hits 19 he'll be there but a bit more to it than that for me.

Anyway, this is a tired old argument.... Lets wait until if/when he gets past Jack's number!
 
He can stick in whatever and whoever's a hole he wants off the course! Never get bored of watching him play good or poor form. Going to a tourney and see him hit the ball is something extra special!
