Hi everyone bit of advice if anyone can help. I'm currently playin between 10 and 14 not got my handicap yet. My question is everywhere I read about takin a divot when hittin a shot but I have got to a stage now where I am hitting my irons as clean as anythin and flushing them straight out the middle. My question is I never ever take a divot is it a bad sign or am I doing anything wrong in my shot. Not that I'm too worried but I'm just curious as to why everyone talks of takin a divot and I never do?

Some people hit down on the ball, some sweep the ball. If your happy with how you swing don't change. Anyway less chance of hitting a fat one.

Bit more chance of the odd thin one though?

i much prefer a thin than a fat. thinned an 8 iron today and it ended up on the green where i was aiming anyway. during the summer im very much a hit down on the ball big divot taker. had to change that for winter golf slightly and try and sweep more as the ground is so soft!
