89 blows to get round the course today.... of which 43 of them were on the green.

I don't include putts from off the green and I don't do gimmies, but this is a new low.

So depressing that my putting was always something I could rely on, it seems as if this is no longer the case.

Hahaha,

No offence Sneds but your worse than me, God that cheered me up.

Thanks mate.

Hope your touch comes back soon, my broom is in the bag to be trialed later tonight.

a massive 25pts for me today, lovely weather here today holed 3 20 footers but thats it. swing is all over the place just now .don,t no where to start.

Steve and I thought that my 29 pts yesterday was a shocker

It seems everyone on the forum is playing crap lately...anyone out there actually playing well? On second thoughts, if you are playing well I dont want to hear about it :p

Ah,not just me then.
Stuck at going around in upper 80's at the mo.
Iron play gone for a chop.
When I do hit a good shot seem to get a bad break.
Arse.

Wow so its not just me then! Drives me nuts Sneds that I can play well and score so badly. That's my typical score upper 80s lower 90s with 38 39 40 odd putts. I have got a putting rail v easy allsorts of alignment stuff and still I can't putt. I don't get it I've got decent fundamentals too. Anyone know any distance drills that are amazing?

Sorry to butt in by the way

Vary the length of your backswing for different length putts.
The longer the putt, the longer the backswing.
And keep the same tempo for all length putts...just like a pendulum

I try and keep the bottom half of my body fairly stationary as a base and then try and putt mainly through my shoulders keeping my hands quiet. Although if that is actually what I've been doing recently is anybody's guess.

Put a club on the ground either side of the putter head aiming towards the cup, just leaving enough space for the putter head, and just practice moving the putter between the lines to at least get a straight movement. If you want to restrict backswing the sit a 3rd club across them at the position where you want the putter head to stop.

Thanks Bob. Just had a session with ny pro. He says my strokes are too long in a sort of languid way. So taught me to be more jabby, well at least that how it feels to me. I was holing and feel more confident now. You know when you say tempo does that mean the speed of the stroke? Or does it mean length in time of the putt? I'm assuming it means speed so the club travels longer on longer putts but remains the same speed?

Thanks in advanced

I mean, dont hit it softer or harder.
Swing the putter with the same amount of effort through the ball. The longer backswing will hit it further for you...unless you slow down into the ball
