Disappointing course developments

I would guess that a 36 lady handicapper has never seen her ball more than 6" off the ground, and quite a few with better handicaps.

Whereas a 28 handicap gent will still knock the spots off the ball and launch it at least 257yds off the tee

I'd be asking questions as to why the changes were made, particularly if there is an element of truth to the rumour and why it was done without any consultation or vote.​

How would clubs run without the rumour mill operating 24/7 ?

Ask the question of the relevant committee member. I'm assuming you have a Greens Convenor or Course Convenor who will be responsible fr this sort of item. As has been said, a little change like this isn't a massive change and will probably have been programmed by the Course Convenor and his committee. There is usually a good reason behind things like this. It costs money to do this sort of thing so it won't have been done on a whim.

Apparently the middle third/half of the wonderful crescent shaped bunker all around the front of 17 Old at Walton Heath was taken out to allow the 'old buffers' to run it up too!
