Looking for a bit of advice

Ill first paint the picture

In 2013 around October I first got below 6 into cat 1 - I was amazed that someone who didn't hit the ball that far and wasn't the best player got to Cat 1 - all the way through 2014 I yo yo ed from 5 to 6 then to 5 again and back to 6

In fact I'm sure some of you will remember when a poster was kind enough to post my results on here. Now last year I forgot about my signature and at times it showed my HC as 5 when I should have been 6 etc - no big deal I thought - well that was until a few started to post hints about my HC etc and things came to a head etc

Anyway through the winter and into autumn I hit a bit of form which carried through into spring - couple of forum wins at RCP and then a cracking win at Blackmoor which then followed two board comp wins and cuts down to 5.1 :D - chuffed

Recent weeks saw a run of 4 .1's which moved me back up to 5.5 - boooooooo :( but yesterday a great gross 73 should get me back to cat 1 again - so I will yo-yo

I'm sure you are bored but I'm getting to the point honestly

Now whilst I have been on here I haven't ever really any technical advice on how to play the game etc etc or I hope I don't display this attitude that I'm a great cat 1 and know how to play the game etc etc

Over the last 6 months it's been a running joke with the friendly Scouse boys about being cat 1 etc and me not being a true cat 1 and we all had a giggle

But imagine my surprise when recently I have been informed that someone is still checking me out on HDID and is telling people on the forum not to call me a cat 1 golfer ?!?! I don't know if I should feel honoured that someone is that obsessed with me that they still check my results and HC out !! I know someone did last year but didn't know exactly who but totally surprised that someone still tracks my progress but I'm confused why they wish to remain in the sidelines - why not be public about it and hide in the shadows about it all ? Why do they feel the need to tell people to check out my HDID ?!

So finally my question - at last you say - what happens next - well soon our clubs systems are being upgraded to make the information private to club registered players - but what does the poster do then ? How will he know what's going on - if he made himself public I could tell him my HC on a weekly basis ? Maybe start a blog just for him ?

But the main point is this poster appears to have an issue with my HC - I'm not sure exactly what it is - so what I'm suggesting is maybe the poster would like to join everyone at H4H day and be part of the 4ball I'm in and we could have a friendly match play or something ? Is that the right way to go

Does anyone else have any suggestions - if you are still reading :D

Honestly who ever the poster is how about just asking me about my golf and HC progress instead and sneaking about like a snake - it's a bit more mature then

Funniest thing I've read for a while. I'd also like to know what the motivation is to be so interested in another forumers handicap. The Worlds full of all sorts I suppose.

The real question you should be asking yourself is, 'should I be flattered or worried?'

Phil ..
Tip 1 , Take your handicap details out of your sig then no one can say you are fibbing coz ur not saying anything ,they are claiming/gloating you are not the handicap you claim to be ,
take it out of your sig , ends all this

(im not saying you are fibbing by the way ,im only worried bout my own handicap)

Tip 2 Like myself you are not a teenager anymore so let whoever is sad enough to be checking you details work away , they will soon get bored of it ,
Don't be worrying or thinking of other folk, u cant control what they say or think & as they don't know the real you , only your online persona then it doesn't matter in the least ..

I like it on here , I like the banter (I know I know) I use the advice I like and try it out & I LOVE the rules pages .. I don't care what anyone here thinks of me ,
The people who have met me know what im made of ,& im sure it is the same with you

The rest.. take me as u find me or take a long walk off a short pier..:D:D:D:D

So what's your handicap officially right now, this instant? Cat 1 or 2,
Not difficult to keep your signature updated.
If Cat 1, I hang on every word, Cat 2, not listening to a thing you say!😜

You should just carry on as normal and feel sorry for whoever is sad enough to motivate themselves to behave like that.

Will you spit the dummy and throw another wobbler if the mystery person beats you?

:mmm:

When have I thrown a wobbler ?

Haven't ever throw a wobbler of a golf match before - certainly can't ever see me starting soon

That round at blackmoor was the best round I've seen all year. Proper cat 1 play  it was playing easy thought, even homer played to handicap :)

All this just shows there are some proper dicks out there. I'd make a point of naming and shaming..but I could probably guess

I'd also pm them every week with a handicap update :)

I know mate - I guess was sort of hoping the person might finally reveal himself and then could see if could understand the motive of it all as I can't fathom why someone gets like that about someone they don't know

Whoever it is probably talks a good game on here & never shows up for forum meets.

I wouldnt worry, if they were good enough they would have the balls to front up and challenge you :D
