Dilemma on a travel bag..

Apparently if flying to the US, the TSA bods at the airport will cut it open, take a few practice swings and (possibly) put it back
Anyone knows where to get TSA compliant padlocks in the UK?

Lots of places, pound land, ASDA and many others. I'm sure you'll get the on Amazon too.

For a travel bag have a look at the John Letters bags on offer from direct golf, they are very good value and decent quality too.

During lunch wandered into the local TKMaxx... and saw 3 golf bags.. about 50quid each. Next stop Poundland

I've got an older version srixon one think it cost me £40 a few years ago, I always put a brush in my bag so the brushbtakesnthe brunt of the bashing about and not your driver,mi also put bubble wrap around the heads and shafts at the top of the bag.
The titleist one is heavy though and doesn't fold down very well for storage when it's not in use

What is a TSA lock? Everytime I've been to the States since 9/11 I've had the padlock cut off my clubs on the way out there.

I've never seen the point of a padlock on luggage. If it's a nylon case, as most are, then a Stanley knife will open it. If not then the whole case will be nicked.

Agree with this, I stick on a cable tie and its really just to keep the zips shut rather than for security

I have a totally solid one which I love, a couple of the locks are busted but some of them still lock and 2-3 straps tight around its girth works a treat.

If you do not have a totally solid one do you have sufficient insurance?

Purely a deterrent, if it looks more trouble than it might be worth then its going to be ignored for easier targets.

Depends on your insurance wording.

Took the plunge and bought the Titleist Club Glove XXL bag. It was listed at 154 quid, but they were doing a Bank Holiday special 15% off across the board. So at £131, I think it should be a good investment.

First impression: It is massive!! My 3 year old went missing. He was playing hide-n-seek in it!!

Bag security: It swallowed my cart bag without flinching. There is a lot of room for extra clothes, socks etc. Interestingly, they have an internal strap that will ensure that the bag does not go for swim once inside this coffin. Also, it has 2 shoe bags to put the shoes away.

Weight: It looks massive. With my bag (w/o Shoes & balls) it did not tip the scale beyond 18Kgs. So still have about 5 kg lee way for the shoes, balls & jumpers. While travelling within US, it looks like the weight limit is 70 lbs, so I will ditch my regular bag and just take this one.

Storage: For a bag of this size, it does fold down well. Attached a pic of the folded bag next to my putter.

Downside: The two straps in front cannot be fully tightened down, so it looks like there is loads of free space. It might just be a placebo effect, but I would have preferred to have it tightened down.
