I’m fortunate enough to have regular access to a GC2 Launch monitor. So today I decided to try a few different shafts is an Apex pro 6 Iron, in my current set up I have the KBS Tour-v stiff shafts. After testing 4 or 5 shafts, the KBS C Taper shafts felt the best. Then looking into the numbers a bit more this shaft gave the following numbers which is about 10-12 yards further then my current 6 iron.
Swing speed; 93mph
Ball speed: 126mph
Spin rate: 4500 – 4700
Launch Angle: 17.4
Carry 193yds
The roll out was around 205, I know that the launch monitor is set to ideal conditions (70*f with no wind on a level surface) so it’s unlikely to get these results on the course, but has any one got any figures that I could compare these to as I’m not sure if the spin rates & launch angles are good or bad.
