After all the conjecture on the earlier posting about the new Les Mis film and other films that others have cried at the question was - did I cry?.

Well surprisingly yes I did. Not at the film though, it was at the booking desk when I found that I was entitled to my first ever concession for being over 60!!!

With joy or realisation?

I did in the theatre but I cannot see me doing it at the film!

Films just don't get me the way real actors right in front of me do!

Go see it and find out SB I'm sure you will appreciate the raw emotion of the film as opposed to the play where you possibly could not feel the emotion in the same way. Give it a go it really is a super film.

Well then Chris, all joking aside what did you think then mate.

A bit unsure really. Some great performances, some great songs but a lot of turgid singing and unmemorable songs mixed in. Ann Hathaway was superb and will get an Oscar, the young boy was great and Hugh Jackman was very good, Russell Crowe hasn't got the voice for the amount that he had to sing but was ok in the part.

I have seen it in the West End and the main difference was that, on stage, they only use professional singer/actors so the quality overall is better and any live performance I worth seeing.

I hope I am not alone in my views
